I tend to use the full form of my handle "Non Sequitur Menagerie" when it will fit in the space used for names. You know those thoughts that run around in your head? The ones that keep you up late at night, and even when you explain things rationally, they keep going? We call those "brain hamsters" in my group of friends. And, it turns out, my brain hamsters like to jump from wheel to wheel, with no visible connection between thought tangents. Hence, the name. Most people shorten it to "Non Sequitur" or "Non" when they're writing to me.
I'm a 27 year old wannabe graduate student (one more rec. letter to arrive!) lost in the wilderness of upstate NY. I have an MA in ethnomusicology, and my research focused on the affects of music on BDSM show participants. If I get to continue my education, I'm either going to have a PhD in music or an MSW / EdD in human sexuality (depends on which program takes me), and I hope to eventually become a sort of crazy music / sex therapist / counselor (how does one shorten that?) when all is said and done.
I started participating in BDSM stage shows when I was doing my MA research. Turns out, my interest was more than academic, and I have branched out, so to speak, in terms of studying various aspects of human sexuality. I do some freelance erotica work (most of my pieces have been written at the request of others, but I'm trying to break out of that) and theoretically, I would be a website model if I was closer to the city the owners are in
I've been pestering Prof. Tom about the technical aspects of podcasting in the hopes of maybe doing a podcast of my own in the future... a bit more general than kinkysexradio, and bringing in some of my own research. But nothing definite on that front yet. |
