Hello Everybody! This is my first post to the forum, so…hi out there! How are ya?
Here is my dilemma:
So I moved to New York after graduating from college thinking that I would be able to pursue my real love of the theatre whilst using my Ivy League diploma to get me a decent job to pay rent, feed myself, etc. So I tried getting a “real job” and it was absolutely hellish. Needless to say, I do NOT want to go back to another crappy job sitting in a cubicle, making copies and being told that I am a worthless piece of poo with a fancy diploma.
I keep seeing ads on craigslist for dominatrix positions in the local NYC dungeons. I have been fascinated by the BDSM scene since I was in highschool and I was an active member of the Goth scene...before it became “cool”...lol! Though I don’t have a lot of real world experience in kink (aside from the clothes!), I’ve done the nerdy thing and tried to research as much as I can.
Are there any pro-dommes on here willing to oblige me with tips for the nervous beginner? Especially any experiences with working in a house of domination (as opposed to being a freelance domme) -- I know that safety is my biggest concern: I don’t want to end up inspiring next week’s episode of “Law & Order”!! Would anyone be able to recommend any dungeons in particular that are known to have good working environments (and likewise the skeevy ones I should stay away from)?
Thanks for reading, any help would be greatly appreciated.

I can't tell you much about finding a house of domination, but I can tell you what not to do when you get there! As I'm new to the Pro-Domme side of things, never, ever under any circumstances act as if you do not know what you are doing. If you really don't, ask someone to train you first, then go ahead with a bit of help along the way. If you give an inch, they'll take a foot; so be careful. Best bet would be to hit up the much loved bondage.com and look for houses, but then go and see for yourself. If you're not comfortable with them, it might not be a good fit. I do know that some houses, such as the private european ones, do require applications and interviews to even train within them. All I can say is good luck, and I hope you find what you're looking for! |
