Mine is my chainmail flogger.
I love having it hang out in the freezer until I need it, then I just drape it along the skin of a bound submissive, usually during wax play.
What is yours and how do you us it/ is it used on you?

At the moment, without question, canes.
I've topped a time or two (or 5 LOL), but it really isn't my thing. So, I'm answering this as a bottom...
Canes are one of the most intense toys I've encountered as far as impact play and I just love them. I love the sensation itself and how far it pushes me... You've got your thud, you've got your sting, you can do light, you can do heavy... Of course, something with the capability to do that much damage, I'd only trust in the hand of someone I, well, trust... Then again, I tend to only play with people I know I can trust.
The marks they leave aren't half bad either 
That'd be from the last time I played, and the implement was something between a cane and a baseball bat... Ok maybe it only seemed that way. LOL. Actually, that was one of those scenes where I walked away disappointed in myself because I felt like I'd been something of a whimp. Then, well, I got home and looked in the mirror and felt a little better *grin*  |

Yikes... Cold! *mimes hopping from foot to foot*
I've actually got a friend who makes those. He also makes chainmail dildos (coated in rubber and dishwasher safe) and jewelry and all kinds of other neat stuff.

ooooh... I have a friend that mails, I should see if she'd make that for me too... (we have a running list: she's making me an outfit, and I'm her corseter)
but, scorpiosub knows what one of my favorite toys is, ('the box') but I'd have to say a good flogger or singletail (its a tie). The singletail is my new favorite though. |

Favorite toy? I almost feel like I should be asking the more experienced of you what to start with. My collection is dismal, but I'm always looking to add to it. New toys get my partner excited and willing to play top for me.
Anyone have any suggestions where to start? I have scarves, handcuffs, a paddle, all small stuff...I need more toys.

One of the first investments I made, when I decided to actually invest a little money, was a good flog. I bought a nice soft leather(elk, kangaroo and suede are wonderful too) flog with about 45 - 50 falls. Look for one that is well made and nicely balanced between the handle and the falls. Rounded tips to the falls will make it less likely to cut.
A flog is very versatile and can be used so many ways. They offer good solid thud and sharp sting, depending on how applied. A leather one dragged across a bottoms neck will submerse them in the scent and sensation. The sound of it flying near their ear can make them dance so pretty.
The next thing I would suggest is hitting your local kitchen store. You can expand your toy collection quickly. Bamboo skewers(sharp and pointy), wooden spoons(nice egg shaped bruises) and spatulas(paddling), a good solid silicone scrambled egg spatula(nice stingy paddle),fondue forks(sharp sensation), a small plastic cutting board(heavy and stingy paddle) and knives are just a few of the inexpensive but highly effective toys that can be found there.
I also keep ribbon, rope, a small vibrator and clothespins packed in my bag....because you just never know what your going to be int he mood for<wink>.

| I't s an oldie but a goodie. I love my Wartenberg Wheel (see here for an example, if you don't know what one is - http://www.wartenbergwheel.com/WWC-sharp.htm). My heavier leather flogger and my small black vibe are probably tied for second place. |

I don't know if I could play with the wheel. I had a chiropractor use one on me once and that was enough. It's so unpleasant and weird that it holds no fun for me. And MsShanadair, thanks. That is an awesome list to begin with. In fact, I think I'll go shopping today. He will be so pleased....

I havent had much practice with toys, but other than a living, breathing human (hands, genetalia, tounge, and so on) I think I am a fan of buttplugs. I love the feeling of being full. Recently, i just bought a new, bigger plug, and I think i'm well on my way to training my anus.

I suppose if I had to pick just one item to take to a party it'd come down to a toss up between my violet wand; quite a lot I can do with that baby for sensation play; and a bag of rope. I've done entire scenes making rope restraints, blindfolds and of course, knots in the right places make it more than a passive experience!
