Prof Tom, you certainly have a different version of fireplay than I do - I"m more of the alcohol and wands type. Yum. Might have to get some flash cotton and play with it.

Though some use flash cotton/paper, when most people think of BDSM fireplay, the are thinking of alcohol. BDSM fireplay and fire breathing are substantially different.

You mentioned not using water to extinguish a fire. This is the rule for immiscable flamables such as kerosene, but one would never use kerosene for fireplay. The only recommended bdsm fireplay fluid is alcohol ( preferably rubbing alcohol which already contains 30 % water). Water is on the list of recommended extingishers for alcohol fires. Several other types of extinquishes are also ercommended, but since one is extinqushing a living body, I'd stick with the minimin toxicity of water. A wet towel is the best, and should be ready ahead and handy, but don't hesitate to use plan water. A large amount of water will extinquish, not spread asmall amount of alcohol. It takes a fair amount of care to to make those fancy layered drinks. The slightest agitation mixes water and alcohol.

Yeah, I'm more the alcohol and wands type myself...
Flash cotton is neat though, this is even more true when watching than bottoming. You can streatch it out nice and thin and make a pattern on the bottom/sub, light one end, and watch it go from one end to the other... too cool. It can be really neat from the bottom's viewpoint if different points of the "pattern" cross over the nipples so that each nipple gets that quick sensation at a different time, and if blindfolded, they won't know exactly when it's coming Wink
