I've seen a lot of people ask about places to purchase kink toys. Being from Canada my favorite place has usually been Canadian Tire. A hardware store. It might be a good section of the show to have cheap kink.
Walk into a room in your house and see how many things you can find to use other than their intended purpose.
A personal favorite, being a bit of a cooking freak has been kitchen utiensils. Spatulas can flip eggs yes, and they make such a good smack sound.
There's all sorts of things about. It might be beneficial to get people thinking outside the box.
Also, love the show. Very enjoyable to listen to at work. No one asks me what i listen to now. |

Great idea ducttapedave!! I know that a trip to home depot isn't just for home improvment. I'll talk with Prof. Thom and see what he thinks about including this in one of our upcoming shows. What does everyone else think?

There's a great book called "Kinkycrafts" that has a that of household / DIY kink toys / furniture. An example:
The Bungee Mini-Flogger:
materials: bungee cord
electrician's tape
tools: exacto knife or small sharp scissors
Time: approximately an hour
cost: depends on size
Don't use the kind of bungee cord that comes with hooks attached. In building supply stores, you can find bungee cord on spools. look at the end of the cord; you should see long, smooth strands of rubber, either round or square.
Decide how large you want your whip. A single 12" length of bungee cords will make a small flogger with a 4" to 6" handle.
Wrap a short piece of tape around the cord 4" - 6" from the end. Starting from the opposite end of the tape, cut around and through the woven covering with a fresh Exacto knife. Pull the cover off. This can be challenging, as the woven material is tough. You may have to try cutting n several different places before it comes off - be patient. Avoid cutting the strands inside. Finish wrapping the handle with tape, and you're done.
The books full title is:
21st Century Kinkycrafts edited by Janet Hardy with ideas from Jaymes Easton, compiled by people in various kink organizations throughoout the country.
The ISBN (if you want to be really friendly to your bookseller) is: 1890159581. It's put out by Greenery Press, and is available at Barnes and Noble, Borders, or your local bookstore of choice. |

If your handy with knotwork, you can use a monkey's paw as a base, and with some simple knots and rope technique (namely whipping) you can also turn 30' of rope of yoru choice into a fun, somewhat scary flog as well.
Also, using the piping from furniture (may be hard to find) and an old bicycle handle, you can make an agressive little flog as well. |
